Macro: Tranquilizing Shot

[codebox]#showtooltip Tranquilizing Shot
/stopcasting
/stopcasting
/cast [@mouseover,exists,harm,nodead] Tranquilizing Shot
/cast [exists,harm] Tranquilizing Shot
[/codebox]

Similar to my other Hunter macros, this one forces the character to stop all actions including Cobra Shot and immediately fire Tranquilizing Shot. The /cast conditional make the shot prioritize the mob under your mouse cursor before falling back to using your primary target. I find this style of macro useful for the purpose of de-enraging monsters that might not be my primary target. Stopping all attacks is a precaution on this macro for those events where you might not want to attack monsters right away after tranquilizing them.

Macro: Counter Shot

[codebox]#showtooltip Counter Shot
/stopcasting
/stopcasting
/cast [harm] Counter Shot
/startattack[/codebox]

I found myself unable to use Counter Shot effectively in instances where my toon was already busy casting something that isn’t easily broken out of, like Cobra Shot. Adding this logic to my Counter Shot button now forces my toon out of whatever it may be stuck doing and instantly fires the Counter Shot before resuming auto attacks.

Macro: Misdirection/Mend Pet

[codebox]#showtooltip Mend Pet
/cast [@focus,help] Misdirection
/cast [@pet] Misdirection
/cast Mend Pet[/codebox]

I use this macro logic for misdirection and mend pet. Since neither are on the global cool down, you aren’t losing anything by always using them together. The logic behind the conditional checks here are simple, uses your focus target as the target of Misdirection, if your focus target is a valid target, otherwise it uses your pet as the recipient of Misdirection. Dropping Mending Pet on your pet anytime you hit the button as well keeps your pet’s health up when it’s the focus of your misdirection.

Macro: Distracting Shot/Kill Shot/Scatter Shot

[codebox]#showtooltip Distracting Shot
/cast [@mouseover,exists,harm,nodead] Distracting Shot
/cast [exists,harm] Distracting Shot
/cast [@pettarget,exists,harm] Distracting Shot[/codebox]

Here is my Distracting Shot macro logic, I also use it with Kill Shot and Scatter Shot. To use this macro properly you must be aware of where your mouse pointer is at all times. The logic works like this:

If your mouse is hovering over a valid enemy, it will be the target of the spell. Otherwise your normal target will be the target. If you have no valid target, then it attempts to use your pet’s target as the target of the spell. Remember, be mindful of where your mouse pointer is at all times when using macro logic like this.

Macro: Disengage

[codebox]#showtooltip Disengage
/stopcasting
/stopcasting
/cast Disengage
/startattack[/codebox]

I use this trick to cancel all my actions to perform Disengage. You might be stuck casting Cobra Shot so disengage wont fire, this macro can give you the second you need to survive what ever you are attempting to escape.
